Our project is 100% non-profit and we work with volunteers only.
We have various rates for Gambians, non-Gambians and expats. Let us explain why.
Our health-coordinator assesses the financial capacity of our Gambian clients. This is one of the reasons why we home visit our clients. We require a security deposit for the medical equipement, when it is returned (no matter the loan period) we pay back the security deposit minus 10% rental fee.
We ensure you that no matter how low the income, we always find a way to lend out the equipment to those in need!
Non-Gambians (tourist/foundations/organisations) and expats are asked to make a donation towards our project to enable us to help those who are permanently disabled and those who cannot even afford our Gambian-income based rates.
We also receive requests from non-Gambians who wish to provide medical equipment for someone they know. If we have enough in stock we can do so. In exchange we ask for an appropriate donation towards our project so we can pay for shipment of medical equipment donated to us in The Netherlands and continu to help others in need.
We find it important to say we do not simply give away medical equipment. We want it to reach those who really need it and when it is no longer used we take it back to help someone else. We have seen medical equipment being sold on the streets or discarded into nature. We do our level best to prevent this!
